Be confident in what you do!

Betsy Wright has a knack for connecting people. Her warm personality and authentic concern for the well-being of others has helped power the growth of Affinity Technology Partners, a managed services technology company based in Brentwood, TN.

Betsy, currently serving as Vice-President of Operations, began her career at Affinity Technology Partners, then 3n1media, in Human Resources. Working alongside her husband Sean, who founded the company in 2002, Betsy tapped into her extensive network to help build the business and start creating the beloved culture that Affinity is known for today. “Back when we first started, Sean saw a tremendous opportunity to create a company that could offer customizable enterprise IT solutions to smaller companies without sacrificing the level of service,” says Betsy. And that’s what the company has done successfully for the past fifteen years.

But Affinity’s strengths go beyond subject matter expertise. The company invests heavily in its culture. “As essential to our daily lives as technology has become, being accessible all the time has made us vulnerable in so many ways. Companies are looking for a partner to help them walk through that,” says Betsy. So, everyone at Affinity, from senior leadership to its amazing team of IT systems engineers and supporting office staff, is committed to offering personalized service and proactive solutions to clients in a friendly and professional manner.

For Betsy, however, rising to such a visible role in an emerging company hasn’t always been easy. A Nashville native, she attended school and began her career in Music City, which has afforded her an opportunity to build her network. “When I look at the connections I have been blessed with over the years, I am very humbled.”

But early on, she lacked the professional role models, in her opinion, to help shape her professional development. “I had to get out of my comfort zone, get over stereotypes, and build up my confidence in myself to be able to do this,” says Betsy. She also assembled a personal advisory board to serve as a sounding board.

Now Betsy hopes to share what she has learned with other women business owners to encourage and support them as they overcome similar hurdles. “You have to surround yourself with people who can and want to help you. And be confident in your ability to lead your business and make the hard choices.”
