Tell us about your business – what do you do, and who do you serve?

I am the founder of Kendra Harris.Co and your Business Doctor of Organization which is a trusted thought partner who helps high performing, overwhelmed business owners streamline operations and optimize backend systems to create space in order to reclaim your time, reduce your stress, and accelerate your business growth all with precision, intention, and nothing slipping through the cracks. As a former high school math teacher, firefighter, and mom of five, I bring a rare blend of heart, systems thinking, and strategic excellence to the world of online business management. As an experienced Online Business Manager, I combine my strong work ethic, unmatched attention to detail, and a passion for making things make sense to create space for entrepreneurs to focus on big-picture growth. My clients don’t just get help with their to-dos. They get a Business Doctor of Organization that identifies bottlenecks, prescribes smart solutions, and builds systems that actually work. My clients range from keynote speakers and coaches to law firms and fitness professionals, and they all share one thing in common: they want to grow without drowning in the details.

What inspired you to start your business?

My passion for helping others, coupled with my desire for better work-life balance, led me to this career path. After 15 years in education, I wanted a better balance for my family while still building something of my own. I’ve always been the one who keeps things running, at home and at work, so when I saw the opportunity to use my organizational and leadership skills in a new way, I took it. Initially skeptical about whether this new experience would be as fulfilling as teaching, I quickly discovered that celebrating wins with my clients and being an integral part of their journey is just as rewarding.

What has been your biggest challenge as a woman business owner, and how did you overcome it?

The biggest challenge has been facing the fear of the unknown and that sneaky imposter syndrome that tries to convince you you’re not ready or not qualified enough. When it creeps in, I don’t ignore it. I recognize it, acknowledge it, and then stop it in its tracks by focusing on the facts: I have the experience, the work ethic, and the results to back up what I do. Confidence isn’t something you’re handed; it’s something you practice.

What aspects of NAWBO do you find most valuable or supportive, and why?

I appreciate NAWBO’s strong focus on supporting women business owners through community, education, and resources. It’s refreshing to see an organization that not only advocates for women entrepreneurs but also equips them with the tools, training, and network to succeed. That kind of intentional support makes a real difference, especially for women juggling so many roles inside and outside their businesses.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to another woman thinking about starting her own business?

If you wait until you’re ready, you’ll never do it. And if someone else can do it, why can’t you? That’s the mindset you have to adopt. Take the leap, learn as you go, and trust that you’re more capable than you give yourself credit for.

Rooted in Tennessee and raised living inside Fall Creek Falls State Park, I’m a proud Tennessee Volunteer, lifelong learner, and master organizer who loves helping others find freedom through structure. When I’m not organizing businesses, can find me spending time with my husband and five children on our farm in the beautiful Tennessee mountains, singing Rocky Top at the top of my lungs at a UT football game, or planning my family’s next big adventure. From the Swiss Alps to Jamaica’s beautiful coast, our family loves exploring new places and creating memories together.

I’ve always been passionate about giving back and leading others. During my years in education, I not only taught math but also coached and mentored students and teachers, which deepened my love for helping people grow. I completed the firefighter academy while teaching full-time and served as a volunteer firefighter, earning additional certifications in rope rescue and vehicle extrication. (Did you know about 70% of Tennessee firefighters are volunteers?) I’ve also worked with the American Red Cross Disaster Action Team and am always looking for new ways to serve my community. Helping others, whether in business or life, has always been the common thread for me.
