Tell us about your business – what do you do, and who do you serve?
I empower consultants and nonprofits with mission-driven brand strategy and design. My specialty is nonprofits that have outgrown their logo and branding or have a need for fractional graphic design support—such as event promotion, fundraising campaigns, annual reports or publications, or VIP Design Days for smaller needs such as brochures, presentations, or quick updates.
What inspired you to start your business?
I believe great design can help nonprofits make a bigger impact on our community. Strong, consistent brand messaging and visuals can uplift a nonprofit’s profile, leading to higher donations and an engaged audience.
What has been your biggest challenge as a woman business owner, and how did you overcome it?
Finding a community of peers to learn from was challenging at first, but looking for niche groups locally and online, I have found designers, freelancers, female business owners, and nonprofit consultants that I can lean on for advice and encouragement.
What aspects of NAWBO do you find most valuable or supportive, and why?
Learning from a wide variety of speakers at the luncheon meetings and the close-knit community of women looking out for one another.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to another woman thinking about starting her own business?
Invest in learning all the ins and outs of running a business from professionals, who can quickly set you up for success, instead of trying to cobble together information from free seminars and books.

If I am not sketching a logo or designing an annual report, you will find me baking treats in the kitchen, digging in my garden, hiking and traveling with my family, or tinkering with metal and gemstones to make jewelry.
