Event Honors Women Business Owners for Contributions to Business and Community
The National Association of Women Business Owners, Nashville Chapter, the premiere organization for women business owners to connect, has announced the nominees for its Second Annual Celebrating Women of Music City Awards, presented by Nationwide Insurance. NAWBO Nashville celebrates the achievements of women business owners at its award luncheon to be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at the Woman’s Club of Nashville, located in Green Hills.
This year, NAWBO Nashville recognizes the national organization’s 40th anniversary with Deborah Snyder, director of membership for NAWBO National, providing featured remarks. “Nashville is one of the fastest growing cities and I’m thrilled to recognize women business owners who are shaping the city and growing its economy,” said Snyder. In addition, Bailey Spaulding, CEO, co-founder and brewmaster of Jackalope Brewing Company, will provide remarks to inspire and transform the next generation of women entrepreneurs in Nashville. Individual nominees are recognized for their contributions to business and the community in Middle Tennessee.

- Diversity Leader of the Year: Sybril Brown, Belmont University and Margaret Dunlap, UPS
- Community Enrichment Award: Donna Drehmann, Listen Learn Live and Karin Moughler, University of Phoenix
- Emerging Business Leader (under $250,000): Sue Ann Cordell, Shineworthy Tea; Mridu Parikh, Life Is Organized; and Dimeta Smith, Dimeta Smith CPA
- Emerging Business Leader ($250K – $1M): Gretchen Campbell, KCA Neurology; Andrea Farr, Nashville Geek; Mila Grigg, MODA; Erica Rains, The Chef and I; and Rachel Schaffer, Schaffer Law Firm
- Emerging Business Leader (over $1M): Kimble Bosworth, Proforma Printelligence and Elizabeth Moss, Caregivers by WholeCare
- Woman Business Owner of the Year: Kimble Bosworth, Proforma Printelligence and Carol Koenig, Group Trek Travel
All nominees will be honored and winners announced live at the Celebrating Women awards luncheon on Wednesday, August 26 at 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Individual tickets for the event are $45 for guests and $40 for members and available online. Tables of eight are available at $320 by registering here.
Judges for this year’s awards represent the entrepreneurial spirit of Music City. They include digital marketing strategist Dave Delaney, FutureForth; Belmont University’s Center of Entrepreneurship director Elizabeth Gortmaker; and event and marketing expert Suzannah Green, Forté Foundation.
