We are thrilled to announce Billie Dragoo, Past Chair of NAWBO National will be joining us as a celebrity judge for this year’s Celebrating Women Awards on August 27th.
Billie Dragoo, President/CEO of RepuCare, is a lifelong Indiana resident. An entrepreneurial executive with 23 years in the medical staffing industry, Ms. Dragoo founded RepuCare in 1995 with the mission of providing allied health staffing to hospitals, clinics and nursing homes. In 1999, on-site occupational health services were offered to expand its business to employers to address the treatment and prevention of workplace injuries and illnesses.
In 2004, the allied health staffing business was spun off into a new company, RepuCare Staffing. RepuCare’s staffing business has also expanded to include state, municipal and corporate clients including the City of Indianapolis, Indianapolis Airport, WellPoint, Managed Health Services, and Correctional Medical Services. In 2011, RepuCare OnSite was formed to provide workplace wellness and on-site health care clinic services as an effective strategy to improve both the health of employees and employer financial health.
Ms. Dragoo has been the recipient of several business awards including the 2003 Blue Chip Community Business Award for Entrepreneurial Business Excellence and 2006 Outstanding Small Business Award from the Historically Underutilized Small Business Coordinators. In 2007, she was the recipient of the Starkey Entrepreneurial Women’s Award. In 2008, Billie was the recipient of the Torchbearer Award for Entrepreneurial Advocacy, one of the highest awards presented by the governor for recognition of outstanding women. She was also awarded the Ernest & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist Midwest in 2008. In 2009, Ms. Dragoo was one of ten female entrepreneurs across the nation chosen to participate in Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit. These ten women joined 400 of the country’s most prominent women leaders. She was also a recipient of IBJ’S 2009 Women of Influence Award in recognition of business and community excellence and leadership. Billie was honored with the 2011 Girls Inc. Touchstone Award along with three other community leaders. She is also a 2014 Central Indiana Business Hall of Fame Laureate.
Ms. Dragoo is a leader for women’s advocacy and devotes considerable time to this endeavor. She is the Chairman and Interim CEO of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO). She is also Past President and emeritus board advisor of the Indianapolis Chapter of NAWBO where she was the architect of its growth and mentorship of many women business owners. She is also Chairman and Founder of the Indiana Women Business Owner’s Political Action Committee (IWBOPAC). Ms. Dragoo is a leader in promoting women’s business, social and diversity causes and is a member of Purdue’s Supplier Diversity Council. Ms. Dragoo is also a board member of GIPC(Gypsy) Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee appointed by the Mayor of Indianapolis. Billie is a board member of the Indiana State Chamber and on the Indianapolis Chamber board’s Political Action committee. Ms. Dragoo was appointed to the Department of Workforce Development board, State Workforce Innovation Council (SWIC) by Governor Mitch Daniels.
Ms. Dragoo is active in a number of philanthropic organizations. She is a past board member and emeritus advisory board member of the Women’s Fund of Central Indiana. She is a past board member and current god parent for St. Mary’s Child Centers. Billie is on the advisory board for Tamika Catching Catch the Stars Foundation.
